[PM-39027] Master password not accepted inside app

Steps To Reproduce

Opening one of my cards prompts re-entry of the master password. When entering the password on the Firefox extension there is no issue. Opening the same card and entering the same password on mobile receives an error message stating the password is incorrect. This is true even when copy-pasting the password that worked on the browser extension.

1. Go to the card in question
2. Receive master password re-prompt
3. Enter master password

Expected Result

The ability to see the card information

Actual Result

Error message: Invalid master password. Try again.

NOTE: the unlock for the app is currently biometric, and I do not want to log out to see if the master password works for log-in because I'm concerned it won't.

No, it isn't. Biometrics is just an unlock option, not a log in option.

and I do not want to log out to see if the master password works for log-in because I'm concerned it won't.

My prediction: this issue will probably get closed and you will be advised to deinstall/reinstall the BW app anyway.

Though it would be good to investigate why the app "develops" this issue in some cases...

I attempted to reproduce your issue and was unable to do so using Bitwarden's latest version of 2026.5.1. @pamperer562580892423 is correct in that I would recommend you perform a clean reinstallation of the Bitwarden app using the instructions below

• Uninstall the Bitwarden client
• Restart the device (perform a full power cycle, shutting the device down completely and then restarting it)
• Reinstall Bitwarden from the download link below

I am experiencing this issue. I am able to unlock a Secure Note on the desktop app, as well as the web version but not on the Android version using the exact same Master Password. I verified multiple times that I didn't enter any typos. I recorded a flight recorder log file but the contact page doesn't allow me to attach a file. How do I email the log to your technical support team?
