I have updated the BMAD Orchestrator to use the newtask tool instead of switchmode to take advantage of Roo's boomerang mode. I also had Roo add icons to suggested answers...just a little QoL improvement ;) |

I have been going through BMAD on a project I'm working on. The first part I used a Gem to get all the docs ready. I will actually be sharing the whole experience in another post (in a nutshell, wow).
I am now ready to implement the features. I use RooCode in VsCode and wanted to use it to "finish the story". But, as a lot of people pointed out, there's not a lot of detail on how to do that. I cheated! I had Roo read the bmad-agent dir to understand personas and the BMAD method and convert that into Roo Modes. Here's the prompt I started with in normal Code Mode:
Take a look at the files in @/bmad-agent It contains information, implementation details, and personas of another coding agent. Can you help me convert what's in here into roo modes? After a few iterations to add prefixes, icons, and add the new whenToUse section to the modes, it came up with the attached roomodes file. You should be able to drop that in the root of your project and include the following folders and their contents:
bmad-agent
|__ checklists
|__ data
|__ tasks
|__ templates
One thing to keep in mind. You must be using the current version of RooCode. This is using the new YAML config for roo modes and won't work in older versions.
I would still recommend using GEM when working on new projects, up until you get all the user stories written and then refined by Bob. Otherwise, it will cost you a fortune!
I'm testing this now and would like to get others' feedback as well!

.roomodes.txt
Edit: Make sure you remove the .txt extension. I had to add it to attach the file.
