NWS Warnings and Alerts

It would be nice if I could see a giant red banner letting me know when a warning is for my area.

Right now we have a winter weather warning but I wouldn't know anything about it with this app.

Weather timeline did something like this which was pretty useful.

Hi! So out of the 3 apis that the app uses right now, only weatherapi provides government weather alerts. I guess i could add a weatherapi government api call after the forecast fetching for all of them, and probably it wouldn't make the load time much slower. I'll have to check.
In your title you said NWS warnings. I have considered adding NWS as another weather provider for some time now, because about a third of the app's users are from america, and the NWS api is totally free. however the documentation is not that good, so I would need some time to figure that out. With that i could also probably add the weather alerts feature too.
I think weatherapi's alerts combine the national alerts so you'd probably get the same stuff with that too.
I'll do some testing with the weatherapi alerts.

Thanks for the response! Just thought it would be a great feature for US users. We get a lot of crazy weather over here and what I miss the most is seeing severe weather alerts.

I switched the data source to weatherapi but still don't see alerts displayed anywhere in the app.

No, you won't see it. I just said I was thinking about adding it. It is not currently implemented.

Hi! I was experimenting with the weatherapi alerts api, and it while does mostly give the alerts, I also feel like it's missing a lot of them (i was using weather today as a reference point). I will probably still finish it though.
But it would be much easier if open-meteo worked on their alerts api too...
