Measurement does not work

Hi,
I just tried to do my first own measurement on a Yeelight Lightstrip Plus. I setup everything as explained and the measurement starts, but after a couple of seconds it aborts with the following error message:

[ERROR] Aborting: Power measurement is outdated. Aborting after 1 nudged retries

Does anybody know what the problem is?

After the light is changed to a certain setting powercalc tries to get a reading from the power sensor, and checks the update time.
It must be later than the time when the light was changed, otherwise powercalc will retry a few times until aborting.
It means your powermeter is not reporting frequently enough.
Hard to say what you can do without knowing more about your setup. Which powermeter are you using and are you connected through HA (hass setting) or directly for example with the shelly setting.

Anyways you'll need to check if there is a setting for your smart plug to shorten the reporting time.
You can also try increasing the SLEEP_TIME variable in .env and you can also try with the MAX_NUDGES param. But these both will increase the time it takes to do the measurements.

You can just create one manually with a text editor.

Ok. I added a color_temp.csv.gz file. However, now one of the checks for my commit failed with an error. Unfortunately, I don't see what the problem is...

One additional question: I'm currently taking measurements for additional lights. How can I create a seperate PR for those? I can only create one fork of the repository and if I copy the files for the additional lights in there, the commits and up in my original PR for the Yeelight lightstrip.

Sorry, but I'm relatively new to Github and working on open source projects...

You can create a new branch in github and make commits on that and create a PR for that.
That allows you to work on multiple features (lights) at the same time.
Just google git(hub) and branches.

One final question: I also use one of these lightstrips with a 2m extension. How can I add this one?

You may structure the profile using sub profiles. As in this example. https://github.com/bramstroker/homeassistant-powercalc/tree/master/custom_components/powercalc/data/lifx/LIFX%20Z

You'll need to make new measurements with the 2 meter extension added.

And make 2 sub directories.
For example

• standard_length
• 2_meter_extension

During setup you are asked to choose the sub profile which matches your situation.
