Adding Squad Style Marching Configs

Greetings,

I've been learning how to use CalChart as my main way of writing drill and was curious as to if there could be a way to have the dots be able to configure to the more traditional squad style marching of having 4 dots in between yardlines instead of the usual 3 dots in between. It's kind of hard to describe but something like how Michigan State writes their pregame show or how Ohio University writes their pregame and halftime routines.

I'm going to be hopefully student teaching for a school who's band does squad style marching and would like to try my hand at writing their show so adding the ability to configure for that would be very handy.

This sounds a bit like adjusting the Grid spacing... So it should be possible.

Just to check, if a "step" is counted as taking 5 yard lines and dividing by 8, then each "step"/"beat" would be about 1.875. That would still be the same, right? Marching 8 beats would still "move" you by 8 steps. It's really just that instead of standing on the yard line, you would be 1 "beat" off. So instead of:
