enhancing global chat on mobile devices

while global chat (on https://11.chamilo.org) has very good functionality, clicking on chat button would open friend list, from there you can choose a fiend to chat with.

but this is not possible to use on mobile devices due to limited screen size

so in order to make it usable in mobile devices. I suggest making the minimized chat as a small square like the following

Thanks for the suggestion. We don't have plans to work on that for this version, but this is a nice suggestion for later versions. We consider the global chat to be a replacement to other chat tools mostly when using a PC. When using a mobile phone, it's probably a good replacement to just use Whatsapp or Telegram.

I think a suitable chat experience for mobile users could be offered via a chamilo mobile app but that would require a significant development and financial resources so we might see this happening in the future
until then we can rely on third party chatting apps as you suggested
