register_read error #16

I'm trying to follow the instructions

https://grafana.net/dashboards/235

for a MySQL dashboard, however when I try to run mysql.py script, it gives me the following error:

File "mysql.py", line 565, in
collectd.register_read(read_callback)
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'register_read'

Is it a version problem or is there anyone previously encountered to this error?
