Occasionally, a Provider-related error occurs when Orchestrator calls delegate_task. In oh-my-opencode.json, I set each agent to use the antigravity or openai model, preventing the use of any of the anthropic/claude models. However, this issue prevents the background_task from running and functioning, forcing the orchestrator agent to execute the task directly, increasing the task's activity time. A problem is reported in provider.ts, which appears to be hardcoded. I wonder if modifying the model specified in this section will fix the issue in a future update.

I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this issue or error.

Root Cause

The issue is in src/shared/model-requirements.ts where fallback chains are hardcoded with Anthropic models as the first entry for many agents and categories.

For example:

• atlas (line 74): First fallback is anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-5
• librarian (line 32): First fallback is anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-5
• unspecified-low (line 112): First fallback is anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-5
• quick (line 105): First fallback is anthropic/claude-haiku-4-5

When you configure your agents to use only non-Anthropic providers (antigravity, OpenAI), the fallback chain still tries Anthropic first, causing Provider errors when those models aren't available.

Why This Happens

The fallback chain is designed to gracefully degrade when a preferred model isn't available. However, it assumes Anthropic is always available, which breaks when users explicitly exclude it.

Solution

The fallback chain resolution should:

1. Skip providers not in your available providers list before attempting to resolve
2. Respect user configuration that explicitly excludes Anthropic

This would require modifying the model resolution logic in src/shared/model-resolver.ts to filter the fallback chain based on available providers before attempting resolution.

Workaround (Current)

Until this is fixed, you can:

• Configure specific models for agents in your oh-my-opencode.json to avoid fallback chain usage

While I can't reproduce this issue 100%, it occasionally occurs when delegate_task is delegated to Atlas (formerly Orchestrator-Sisyphus) without specifying categories or sub_agents.
Currently, I've verified that existing categories have changed in oh-my-opencode and modified the model and variants for unspecified-low/high. This rarely happens. However, occasionally, the anthropic/claude-@@@ model is called instead of the google/antigravity-claude-@@@ model I configured, resulting in a problem in provider.ts.

This error doesn't occur every time, but only occasionally, so I'm not 100% sure what the cause is.
However, I've seen provider.ts-related errors appear during long tasks, such as ulw or ulw-loop, and when multiple delegate_task calls are made.
