VcsVersion plugin in GHA?

Locally, this somewhat naive strategy

import $ivy.`de.tototec::de.tobiasroeser.mill.vcs.version::0.4.0`

def latestVersion: T[String] = T{VcsVersion.vcsState().lastTag.getOrElse("0.0.0").replace("v", "")}

tells me the last tag.

In GHA, I get "0.0.0". Would it be expected to work in GHA?

• Ensure the complete repository history is available. (fetch-depth: 0)
• Ensure the tags are available (fetch-tags: true), this should also be set by default, if the fetch depth is 0.
• That all (and not just the first!) checkout actions in the run, satisfy the two conditions above.
