Please fix slabs or add vertical slabs as an additional item

Placing down slabs the "vanilla" way is very tedious sometimes as they will just turn into vertical slabs for no reason at all, which almost makes me want to replace the mod with FramedBlocks in any modpack I play. The only reason I was able to place this slab correctly was by having another slab under the stair, which is really inconvenient for building. If this is a thing on newer versions I apologize since I am stuck playing on 1.20.1.

Honestly all of the blocks need more intuitive ways to place them, perhaps with previews of how they'll be placed, and with their placement depending on where you click on a block, because currently it seems they always flatten themselves to the block face you're targeting, which makes building anything with vertical slabs or boards nearly impossible unless you build a mould around of it first.
