+For this week’s visualization I chose to focus on a visualization called “The median age of population radial graph” by the Visual Capitalist. This, instead of usual a bar chart, uses a radial approach to represent the data. In my opinion, for this particular dataset,  this is more visually impactful than a standard bar chart. The graph uses different colors to represent different areas of the world, and each country is represented by a line starting at a common centerpoint. This makes it easy to grasp the difference in median ages from say, Africa to Europe. Some African countries have a median age of 14, which could be due to inadequate healthcare, resources, or nation turmoil, while in Europe, the median age varies around age 40.

+For the final reflection of the term, I chose to focus on a visualization someone posted a reddit thread. Here, it visualizes money. It shows the respective size for the median U.S. household income, a million, then Jeff Bezos net worth, the cost to house every homeless veteran, etc.

+The challenge of grasping such vast sums of money is daunting for the average person. However, this visualization bridged that gap, making these figures palpable and undeniable. Its horizontal scrolling format was particularly effective, forcing viewers to engage with the entirety of the wealth disparity depicted. Additionally, I think the overlaying of significant social issues over a small portion of Bezos’ networth is eye opening and astounding. This visualization informed readers, and also evoked a sense of urgency to address societal inequalities.
