In some cases, when the inventor is also the assignee, the patentee is cited as the assignee first and then "referred to" as the inventor as well but not named. Hence, the patentee was only annotated as an assignee and not an inventor. This can affect the consistency of the database and some metrics (both for within and between countries comparisons).
