System information

  • Windows OS version: 11
  • ImageGlass version: 9.2.0.1208
  • ImageGlass release: Classic

Describe the feature

  • Ability to drag and drop images from different folders and they all appear on the same gallery, instead of the gallery changing to one of the selected images folder's gallery.

How to use feature

  1. Dragging and dropping one or multiple images from a folder or other source will add it to the current gallery even if it's in a different folder than the previous images currently in the gallery.

Additional context

I'm an illustrator and, like many ImageGlass users, I'm interested in the slideshow feature for study sessions. I like that I can just open my gigantic reference folder in random order, including subfolders, and start a slideshow from there, that's perfect.

But what I usually do is I select certain images on Allusion ( https://allusion-app.github.io/ ) and drag them into an AutoHotkey script I created that helps with what I want. This allows me to have complete control on which set of images I want to study, filtering by multiple tags.

This quickly became a problem on ImageGlass as I can't seem to open images from different folders in the same "gallery". The dragging and dropping works, but the folder immediately changes, and with it the gallery. I imagine this might be a big change to implement, but it will help me bring other artists to ImageGlass as well.

If it's easier, maybe dragging and dropping into the slideshow window could have this behavior, instead of the main window, since changing the way the gallery currently works might be problematic.
