This will will have to wait till we get Indy on board as your package has a dependency on Indy. FWIW, you should probably think about creating separate packages for those that depend on Indy.. ie create a LoggerPro.Core, LoggerPro.Email, LoggerPro.Rest etc - that way people can use what suites and not pull in unwanted dependencies.

Indy is complicated by the fact that it's included with delphi - I dislike that, as it's impossible to know what version (or commit) they have included so I have no idea if it includes a bugfix or not. I prefer to download from github, that way I can control what version I am using. So anyway, not sure what the path will be with Indy - might need to create multiple packages, eg Emb.Indy and IndySockets.Indy etc - also right now they don't use releases, I have raised an issue about versions.

Revisiting this now that DPM is close to v1 (and the indy issue is solved) - but there are issues with the dpk/dproj files.

The D13 package has a linux64 targetplatform, however the package references the vcl (making that impossible to compile).

The D10 package does not have a Win64 targetplatform.

The readme says that its crossplatform, however the package files only support compiling for Windows.

Oh and since this is a dependency for delphimvc I am blocked on sorting out that for dpm too. I would love to get this projects in dpm - having an easy way to use libraries will make these libraries more likely to be used.

Hi @vincentparrett, DPM support has landed on master (commit ed97e60).

LoggerPro.dspec — shipped as a single cross-platform source package (DanieleTeti.LoggerPro), targeting Win32, Win64, Linux64, OSX64, OSXARM64 across Delphi 10.0 → 13. No external DPM dependencies: VCL, FireDAC and Indy all ship with RAD Studio (Indy/FireDAC on every platform, Linux included). The VCL/Windows-only appenders are {$IF MSWINDOWS}-guarded, so they stay dormant on non-Windows targets and the core + fluent builder compile everywhere.

I also fixed the .dproj problems you reported:

• Added classic Win64 to every package. It was missing on d100–d110, and d120/d130 only carried the modern Win64x toolchain — which DPM doesn't target. Verified compiling on Delphi 12 and 13 for both Win32 and Win64.
• d130: disabled the Linux64/Android64 targets that could never compile against vcl/FireDAC.

On not splitting into Core/VCL/Indy/REST: I evaluated it, but since Indy and FireDAC ship with Delphi on all platforms there's nothing to isolate as a DPM dependency, and the only genuinely non-portable units (the VCL appenders) are already IFDEF-guarded and harmless in a source package. So a single package keeps things simple without forcing unwanted compilation. A lightweight LoggerPro.Core could still be added later as an optional convenience if there's demand.

Source units and .dpk files are untouched, so manual installation is unchanged.

One caveat for full transparency: Linux64 is compile-verified here (26/32 units; the 6 Windows-only ones stay dormant), while macOS is declared by POSIX parity with Linux, very likely fine but not yet compiled on a Mac. Happy to adjust the dspec if you hit anything during onboarding.

The problen with this is that we use the package projects to pre-compile the library on first install - that won't work for macos or linux due to the vcl reference. Indy is fine.

So with the current structure, only windows would be supported via DPM.

I just looked at the dspec. You didn't add a build entry, so the when a user uses the dpm package, delphi will compile loggger pro (any anything that depends on it, such as delphimvc) every time their project builds.
