Plugin does not support Mastodon accounts where url and username address do not match

I have a Mastodon instance on mastodon.arjoranta.fi, but it is set up so that the my mastodon username is just @[email protected] (without the mastodon-part). This works with web-finger redirects, but it seems this plugin is unable to follow them and does not work with this setup.

The registration completes succesfully, but the plugin is unable to send toots to that account.
