Sensor names always inverter_?

The other Solarman integration (which I couldn't get to work) had an option for a prefix before the entity names, like deye_. Did I just miss that option when I installed the integration?

My problem is a bit comical. I have an integration with Solar Assistant via mqtt. I installed this integration because I was curious to see how it compared with the data I was getting from SA. The issue is that both integrations use exactly the same names for some of the entities, like sensor.inverter_pv_energy. On one hand this isn't a problem because the data should be the same, but I'd rather keep the entity names unique to the integration. I can get SA to regenerate the entities but I don't know how to change the names. If I have to uninstall this Solarman integration and re-install, I can do that. I only have a small amount of data and only a simple dashboard.

Hi @haysdb, name can be set/changed during device configuration (or by using Rename under 3 dots menu when you list all configured devices).

I did that and rebooted but none of the entity names got changed.

Then remove device, re-add it back and set proper name during configuration. 😉

Ugh. OK. I don't actually have that much invested yet, so that might not be TOO painful.

It will not affect anything, even if you was already "invested too much". 😉
