they kind of oversweep. effect is kind of like an old movie countdown

(slowed down to 10s. color flashes due to gif conversion.)

it looks maybe like one of those >π or >2π bugs

The new slice is starting from the vertical and travelling clockwise, when it should just be expanding counterclockwise
