on screen keyboard not showing up

hello! I've tried using the built in on screen keyboard to have it pop up on my piosk/xiosk when i click a text bar and it will not work, i was wondering if you've known a work-around or a keyboard that will appear over the piosk/xiosk layer (fullscreen)

when i'm using chromium normally with xiosk/piosk shut off it works as should but im unsure if theres a way that i can do this without exiting piosk/xiosk

1. I'm not aware of any part of xiosk actively suppressing OSK, but it can be an effect of the changes in the underlying layers it works on top of; so...
2. It'd be great if some other people can comment on the behavior on their setup; if everyone is having the same/similar experience (along with the Pi version, OS version, touch enabled status etc)
