Use OAuth for Linear

Heya,

I was quite excited to try this out but seems you can only use API keys to connect to Linear right now? In many workplaces personal API keys can be tied down and only accessible for workspace admins. And even if they aren't tied down OAuth is just.... nicer?

Please let me know if this is a terrible idea though. I have a feeling it might be something you've already considered.

Not a terrible idea at all! It was just that the API key was the easiest solution at the time. I would expect that I would need to create some sort of Linear app or similar, and I just didn't want to get down that rabbit whole.

I'll of course keep this issue open, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to prioritize this. I'm working on a team feature within SlayZone itself (self-hosted). Just curious, would this fill your need? :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems you sort of have to use the Kanban board / view to start tasks etc? Or is it possible to just open a bunch of terminals and run claude within them (where claude can just read from my Linear using an MCP instead)?

That would solve my use case too tbh.

If I understand you correctly, you could either just create one task with multiple terminal tabs inside it. But I would recommend you to checkout the Temporary tasks which you create with Cmd+Shift+N. They are ephemeral and disappears if you close them - but you can also turn them into "real" or persistent tasks with a button in the UI or via the CLI.

You could also create a skill that (via the MCP) pulls a specific Linear ticket and creates a corresponding Slay task. You could do this e.g. via the Global agent which you can open with Cmd+.

Ah I had a look in the settings. It's because this seems to be the default flag for Claude so any new Claude sessions gives that warning: --allow-dangerously-skip-permissions.

I removed that and that solved it. Thanks!
