Our Standards

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful and inclusive: Treat everyone with respect and dignity
  • Be collaborative: Work together to build great software
  • Be constructive: Provide helpful feedback and suggestions
  • Be patient: Remember that everyone is learning and growing
  • Be professional: Maintain a professional tone in all interactions

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment: Any form of harassment, including but not limited to:

    • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, age, race, national origin, ethnic origin, nationality, language, or religion
    • Unwelcome comments regarding a person's lifestyle choices and practices
    • Deliberate misgendering or use of rejected names
    • Physical contact and simulated physical contact (e.g., textual descriptions like "hug" or "backrub") without consent or after a request to stop
    • Threats of violence
    • Incitement of violence towards any individual, including encouraging a person to commit suicide or to engage in self-harm
    • Deliberate intimidation
    • Stalking or following
    • Harassing photography or recording, including logging online activity for harassment purposes
    • Sustained disruption of discussion
    • Unwelcome sexual attention
    • Pattern of inappropriate social contact, such as requesting/assuming inappropriate levels of intimacy with others
    • Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease
    • Deliberate "outing" of any aspect of a person's identity without their consent except as necessary to protect vulnerable people from intentional abuse
    • Publication of non-harassing private communication
  • Trolling: Deliberately disrupting discussions or making inflammatory comments

  • Spam: Posting irrelevant or excessive content

  • Doxxing: Sharing private information without consent

  • Discrimination: Any form of discrimination based on protected characteristics

Enforcement

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it by:

  1. Email: conduct@aport.io
  2. Discord: Contact a moderator in our Discord server
  3. GitHub: Use the "Report" feature on GitHub

Response

Reports will be handled by the APort team. We will:

  1. Acknowledge: Confirm receipt of your report within 24 hours
  2. Investigate: Review the situation thoroughly and fairly
  3. Respond: Take appropriate action and communicate the outcome
  4. Follow up: Check in to ensure the issue is resolved

Consequences

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Consequences may include:

  • Warning: A private, written warning
  • Temporary ban: A temporary ban from the community
  • Permanent ban: A permanent ban from the community
  • Legal action: In severe cases, we may involve law enforcement

Scope

This code of conduct applies to:

  • All APort community spaces (Discord, GitHub, forums, etc.)
  • All APort events (meetups, conferences, etc.)
  • All APort projects and repositories
  • All public interactions when representing APort
