There's an important use-case around safely preparing items for ingest from a collection of files. The current DP Workbench is intended to support through bulk file extension lookups, but other features have already been suggested, and this all gets quite ambitious quite quickly:
There's also a set of 'gotchas' that such a tool could help manage through contextual help. For example, the tool could pick up on the formats and say "here's some known subtleties that might catch you out!"
- identify multi-file 'format' folders that should be ZIPd
- Select 'yours/not' and suggest tools and usage, e.g. relevance of validation.
