When uploading an animated WebP that's not very small, but also not what I would consider too big, example: 480x360, 20fps, 5 seconds duration / 100 frames - Discord can take about 4-6 seconds to process/resize (on desktop - mobile is faster because of the small resize dimensions) before anyone sees anything.
GIF doesn't have this issue for the most part. I know WebP is slower to decode, but this REALLY sucks for users when the chat is moving fast. Some people won't even see the WebP by the time it's scrolled out of view. Can some optimization be done for this? Some people on Reddit have also been complaining about this.
