Handy tool - we have some users who like to change their nick:

  • knockoff_eazar is now known as eazar_pensive
  • variable has quit (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
  • eazar_pensive is now known as eazar_oldman
  • eazar_oldman is now known as eazar_dustoff
  • eazar_dustoff is now known as eazar_resolute
  • eazar_resolute is now known as eazar_reflection
  • eazar_reflection is now known as eazar_imitation
  • eazar_imitation is now known as eazar_experience
  • akmnlrse has quit (Remote host closed the connection)
  • TheCommieDuck (~TCD@95.148.15.112) has

sometimes this is a way of evading 'you own your own words' responsibility, which brings out the worst 'internet' behavior.

A tool that would discourage this behavior is 'other nicks'

this would work by keeping a graph where nicks are linked by 'is now known as' messages.

A couple years ago we had a persistent troll who was constantly changing nicks. This tool would have made it easier to figure out you were talking to the time waster.

Be even more effective if it was global (hmm... maybe publish a SPARQL endpoint of the data - 8cD )
