When using "sort by state" the selection after adding a file to the index jumps around

Bug description

I have enabled "sort by state" and click on the first item of a list of modified files, then click on the add button to add them to the index.

Actual behavior

Now the selection jumps from the first item to a (seemingly random) item in the list.

Expected behavior

I would expect the top most item to be selected now.
