Unable to install Eclipse after changing Windows User folder and its username #244

I don't know if this is the correct way for requesting assistance for this issue, so forgive me if not.

I changed my username and my username folder's name in my PC. I made the necessary registry changes but those doesn't affect programs configurations. Eclipse stopped launching, as expected, but even after modfiying the .ini to open from the correct new username folder, it still didn't work.
Then, I deleted the eclipse and .eclipse folders and downloaded eclipse again, but now I can't even install it.

Tested under this environment:

  • OS & version: Windows 11 24H2
  • Eclipse IDE/Platform version (as shown in Help > About): ...

Community

  • I understand reporting an issue to this OSS project does not mandate anyone to fix it. Other contributors may consider the issue, or not, at their own convenience. The most efficient way to get it fixed is that I fix it myself and contribute it back as a good quality patch to the project.

Delete the .p2 folder in the home folder too.
