Vehicle to cloud communication

Hi,

I just wonder to which extent vehicle-to-cloud communication is supported?
Basically, I want to send data from vehicles to cloud services and vice versa, while simulating varying bandwiths (e.g. 4G, 5G), package loss and delay, but on a rather abstract level. Also, I don't want to integrate RSUs as vehicles using existing mobile networks.

As far as I've understood, the built-in Network Simulator Cell should be able to do this? What about the other network simulators? The focus there is more on vehicle-to-vehicle communication?

Yes, your assessment is pretty much on point. Currently, all other coupled simulators are limited to wifi-based vehicle-to-vehicle or vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.

The cell simulator being the exception, allowing to configure bandwidths, loss probabilities, and delays on a fairly abstract level.
In MOSAIC, we define Server-Units, which are "located in the cloud", i.e., not having a physical location.
