Support for non NIBE heatpumps?

Hi

Just came across this while looking for a solution to optimize heat pump usage, based on spot pricing and weather forecasts.

I had a look through, and it seems to rely pretty heavily on NIBE's DM values. How feasible do you think it would be to add support for non NIBE heatpumps, using just sensors with the setpoint and current temp values?

In my particular example, I would be controlling an Ecodan unit.

Yes, since I use Nibe myself that's what I have tested with.

But I'm not against adding more if you agree to provide basically everything and also test it through beta releases. It takes a lot of time, just fyi, but totally possible! 👍🏼

Do you have a suggestion/preference in how to deal with the DM stuff? For example, would it be better to have an adapter to generate DM values based on the temp sensors the other brands provide, or should the whole DM logic be bypassed entirely?

When I researched for this app I asked an AI to basicaly scrape the internet for ALL possible information from forums, the manufactures (Nibes) own documentation, and everything it could find.

Since different manufacturers probably calculate DM differently, I think it's a good idea to use different specific heatpump offsets and values - while keeping the core logic.

That said, I've been running this since start in production now, and it takes a really long time to get it perfect. It's still not perfect for my use, but close.
