  • Because the Peripheral trait needs to be implemented on pac peripherals we have a bit of a dilemma

    • Add a macro to esp-hal to create new types for pac peripherals and implement the trait there (if we do this we shouldn't export the pac from our hals anymore)

SSL

• Ring maintainer review the PR... and closed it Support Xtensa, RISC-V and ESP-IDF briansmith/ring#1506, but all is not lost they're working on another more portable solution for the future.
  • It's still possible to use our fork under esp-rs-compat for now
  • In the future we will be wrapping esp-tls in its own crate and PRing that to rust-native-tls
