“Invalid genesis state” with latest nimbus

Perhaps I’m too early and this repo isn’t yet deployment ready but given the tight launch window I thought I’d better double check.

Latest stable nimbus, v25.2.0 fails to start with the supplies config.yaml, fails with:

@tersec, no luck with v25.3.0 and latest commit of this repo (db5bfa8), you can see my entire config in the nimbus startup log in the below screenshot, what am I missing?

Do the sha256sums match, especially of genesis.ssz (7f42257ef69e055496c964a753bb07e54001ccd57ab467ef72d67af086bcfce7)? Do you have git-lfs installed?

For me, also, curl or wget on https://github.com/eth-clients/hoodi/raw/refs/heads/main/metadata/genesis.ssz does work to get the genesis state, with the correct hash. It's not enough on its own though, so I strongly suggest that you get git-lfs working rather than try to patch it in file-by-file manually.

However, without git-lfs, or if one uses the "download .zip" functionality of GitHub, one gets the 134 byte genesis.ssz file which your logs show. This is not, in fact, a genesis state, but a pointer to it git-lfs (yes, please install it/ensure it's set up/configured via whatever Git UI you're using) with the literal contents:

That is, it's pointing to an object with the SHA256 hash of 7f42257ef69e055496c964a753bb07e54001ccd57ab467ef72d67af086bcfce7 (which is correct, see above).

@tersec, installed git-lfs and running git lfs fetch --all, I now have the full genesis file downloading, this was more than likely the issue, I didn't test yet as it's not fully downloaded but I believe it's going to work properly once downloaded.

My beacon node is in sync, but my execution client (reth) can’t find any peers and is stuck on block 0, the launchpad is still not available and the etherscan link is also broken - do you happen to know when will these be operational so I can join the validation queue?

FYI, couldn't get reth to work, was never connected to any peers, switching to besu solved the issue and I'm now fully synced.

@ibhagwan it might take days for the tooling to come up, if possible please use the deposit cli and ethereal or any other CLI tool to make the deposits if you are in a rush.

Absolutely not in a rush, just wanted to experiment as I'm developing a new open source ethereum CLI tool (WIP, not published yet).

Was able to use ethdo to create the deposit tx's and interact with the deposit contract directly, my validators are now in the activation queue.
