Is your feature request related to a specific event or situation at Eurofurence?

No response

What problem are you trying to solve with this feature?

Better on-site use on smartphones and tablets.

Describe the solution you'd like to see implemented

Just a simple App for a better use on-site.

How would this feature improve the Critter System for Eurofurence volunteers or attendees?

It can make it easier to create and manage shifts on-site.

Describe any alternatives you've considered or tried

I tried Web-Apps on Windows (Surface), Android and iOS (iPad).

  • Windows is good
  • Android is okay
  • iOS is just opening the whole browser ...

Could you please on iOS again. I just checked it and it's working fine (on iPhone).

I tried it today on a macbook at work and it worked fine.

I would prefer to npot develop an app:

  • Development would start from 0 while here we can build on top of a working system of the AngelSystem
  • It would result in two apps we have to manage
  • publishing apps isn't free
  • Volunteers would have to download an app first before being able to sign up for shifts. This would be a major point where people would rather not bother and then not volunteer
  • Every device has a webbrowser that can show this webapp

Still, I agree with the issue, that this page was developed with notebook/desktop first in mind and that using it on mobile is bad. We want to use our development resources to improve the mobile UX and develop and change the critter system mobile first in mind.
