Getting "The 'compilation' argument must be an instance of Compilation" after upgrade

I've tried to upgrade from 3.4.4 to 4.0.1
Deleted the node_modules and ran yarn again.
But now when I run build I get -
The 'compilation' argument must be an instance of Compilation

any ideas?

Same here but upgrading from 4.0.3 to 5.0.0. Have no clue yet on why this is happening.
