Files clicked in Recently used files are not found

Describe the bug
When I made a screenshot or downloaded any file to use it in another app, I tried to find it in "Recently used files" section in Nemo sidebar.
However, when clicking on the existing file, a message appears that it is not found although it is there.
Maybe because of the set parameter behind file extension. The problem exists at least with image files of *.png format.

Steps to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. I download an image.
2. I want to use this image in another app, i.e. here as an attachment or to change any app icons.
3. I click on "Recently used files" in Nemo sidebar.
4. In the opened window this image is listed.

5. I click on it.
6. An error message pops up:

The file is listed, however cannot opened for use in other app.

Expected behavior
All recently used files that are listed when clicking on them in the opened list should get opened.

This issue did only appear in Nemo. Since using Dolphin instead the issue is gone.

Adding tag because 10th Anniversary Release already fixed this even before its Alpha releases, so once complete this will be a fixed bug.
