My usecase was the following:

For qiime2 some tools seem to have been deprecated (i.e. there is no new version). By listing tools that have not been updated I could easily spot if a workflow is affected.

Are you talking about tools in a collection? For example, my workflows are using bowtie2/samtools/awk etc.... They are not updated simultaneously and I don't want to know when some are not updated...
