# GitHub Issue Labels

Use this label set when triaging, creating, or updating issues in https://github.com/gambitph/Stackable

Priority, release target, and status belong on the [release project board](https://github.com/orgs/gambitph/projects/2/views/1) — not labels.

## Type (exactly one)

| Label | Use for |
|-------|---------|
| `bug` | Something broken in the current release |
| `enhancement` | Improvement to an existing feature |
| `feature-request` | New block, capability, or workflow |
| `question` | How-to, support, or unclear reports |
| `documentation` | Docs, readme, or in-plugin help |

## Triage (zero or one, temporary)

| Label | Use for |
|-------|---------|
| `needs-reproduction` | Cannot verify; waiting on repro steps |
| `might-be-fixed` | Likely fixed; checking changelog or codebase |
| `not-planned` | Valid request, explicitly out of scope |
| `duplicate` | Same as another issue |
| `invalid` | Not actionable |
| `wontfix` | Will not be addressed |

Remove triage labels when closing or confirming status.

## Area (zero or one)

| Label | Use for |
|-------|---------|
| `compatibility` | Theme, plugin, browser, WordPress, or Gutenberg conflicts |
| `accessibility` | a11y |
| `premium` | Premium-only code (`pro__premium_only`) |
| `editor` | Block editor UI, inspector, toolbar |
| `frontend` | Saved markup, CSS, or JS on the site |
| `design-library` | Designs, patterns, site kits, layout picker |
| `global-settings` | Colors, typography, presets, block styles, role manager |
| `performance` | Speed, caching, asset size |
| `migration` | v2→v3, deprecations, block recovery |

## Community (optional)

| Label | Use for |
|-------|---------|
| `good first issue` | Good for new contributors |
| `help wanted` | Extra attention welcome |

## Pull requests

| Label | Use for |
|-------|---------|
| `pr: needs review` | Awaiting review |
| `pr: reviewed` | Reviewed with comments |
| `pr: good to merge` | Approved |

## Rules

- Apply **one type** label per issue.
- Apply **at most one** triage label and **at most one** area label.
- Do **not** use per-block labels — put the block name in the issue title or body.
- Do **not** use priority or version labels.
- When closing obsolete v2 issues, remove legacy labels if editing the issue.
