Gantry class not appearing on the frontend

Joomla 3.10.12 and Gantry 5.5.17
Typically with any Gantry 5 site, would have a class on it, including by default 'gantry' but after an update nothing is showing in the body tag, no class appears. In the backend there is are two different classes set, but they don't show up on the frontend. This is true if you try and set a class in the section settings options. You can add a class in the backend and it saves properly, but those classes do not appear in the frontend.
