Drag pane headers to swap pane positions

When I have several panes open, I sometimes want to rearrange them so related work sits together. I haven’t found a mouse interaction for changing which pane occupies each position.

I’d love to drag one visible pane’s header onto another pane. Dropping it would swap the two panes while preserving the existing split structure and sizes.

For example, if pane A is on the left and pane B is on the right, dragging A’s header onto B would put B on the left and A on the right. Their processes, content, and state would remain attached to their respective panes; only their positions would change.

Keeping the first behavior to swapping seems predictable and simpler than free-form insertion at different edges.

Would this fit Herdr’s mouse interaction model?
