The problem

Throughout the day, thread devices will drop offline one by one. Seems that the first divice to drop is always different. I have about 25 thread devices total from different manufacturers. Trying to reload OTBR will give the below error. Only seems to be fixed by restarting the system. Restarting Home Assistant alone does not fix the issue.

Same here, current updates as of today. I believe this started happening 1 or 2 updates ago.

Same problem here. After one to 3 days my HA thread borderrouter is gone. HA OS 13.2, Core 11.3, OpenThread border router 2.12.1 (also with version 2.12.2 was the same problem). Thread network combined with Apple Thread network.
Hardware: Raspberry pi5 with
usb-ITead_Sonoff_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus - for zigbee
and
usb-ITEAD_SONOFF_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_V2 - for thread.

17 Jan:
I updated in the meanwhile to HA 2025.1.2, OS 14.1, OpenThread border router latest available version.
Besides this I noticed that I lost my border router in HA at moments I disconnected my Aqara Ceiling Light and powered it back up. Besides Aqara, I have also a Zigbee "networks" Somfy Tahoma and Apple. The Apple thread network is "linked" with the border router of HA. As all these "networks" can work the same network frequenties I ask myself if this can also influence the lost of the HA border router? For HA zigbee, thread and my WiFi network I hope to have selected the best possible frequenties so that they do not interfere. For Aqara and Somfy I have no possibility to see what settings they use.
This said, it has been a while I did NOT lost my border router. What did seems to have solved it, I do not know. What I do know in the meanwhile is that interference happens quickly if you have different systems that all controle "automatically" which is best for them but not necessary for there college "networks".
I will come back with an update if I do not notice any problem anymore with my Border router or ...

I thought it was just me, made an issue on GitHub and with the discord and gave a whole bunch of logs across different builds and setups and a whole bunch of troubleshooting

Hi have the same issue HA runs in Virtual Box Win11. First it would loose connection when doing a full restart in the Dev-Tool. Skyconnect USB looses connection in the VM which made a full restart of the VM. Now it looses connection and sends mit to Config but then config tells me this:

Fehler beim Speichern der Add-on Konfiguration, Device '/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Hersteller-Modell-Seriennummer-if00-port0' does not exist in OpenThread Border Router (core_openthread_border_router). Got {'device': '/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Hersteller-Modell-Seriennummer-if00-port0', 'baudrate': <Baudrate>, 'flow_control': <True/False>, 'autoflash_firmware': <True/False>, 'otbr_log_level': '<Log-Level>', 'firewall': <True/False>, 'nat64': <True/False>}
