Motivation
Libmesh has supported polygonal and polyhedral elements for a year or so now, but adoption of MOOSE is a little slow because we are missing base capability in mesh generation.
Polygons in a 2D mesh can be extruded into a polyhedra, as long as there are not too many nodes!
Design
Add another case under the switch for element type in the extrusion class
Impact
More flexibility for forming 2D meshes than extruding to form an extruded 3D part/model
