Teams Github works for one repo and not another?

  • Chatting with the github chatbot via messaging.
  • Confusing, since the instructions say to use @github and doestn work in the direct chat
# This one works
subscribe OpenCTI-Platform/opencti releases
# This one doesnt?
subscribe MISP/MISP releases
# Teams Response
Either the Teams GitHub app is not installed on your repository or the repository doesn't exist. Install the app to proceed further.
Note: You need to be an organization owner to install the app.
# It does exist and the app is installed, for example: When I add it this way, the repo summary even shows up in teams. Still same error?
subscribe https://github.com/MISP/MISP releases

Doesnt work in a channel?:

  • When I select the app to be opened in a teams channel, github adds it to a teams channel.
  • When i type @github the commands show , i select them and add the github owner/repo and nothing happens?

Refine Github Teams App:

  • The idea is interesting, doestn really work right. A lot of bugs.

Found a more reliable way:

  • Github > owner/repo > watch > custom > releases
  • This will send an email notification
  • Can use Power Automate to send these emails to a teams channel.
  • Limitations, need github and Teams to be using the same email , also need to setup power automate.
  • This is more reliable then The Teams Github APP.
