Errors importing code blocked switching branches

A customer reported they were unable to create a new branch for development because of errors importing files from the source repository. After fixing some errors in the repository, they were able to create a new branch successfully.
Import errors should not block switching branch. We should try to replicate if there is a type of error that would block this.
