I love this project and think the people behind it are awesome! I do appreciate all the time and effort going in to all of this.
It would be nice to see people directed to the GitHub discussion board or possibly another publicly available forum from your main website in addition to Discord or Twitter.
Personally, I will never be using Twitter and I don't think I have to explain why. I know there will be many more with that sentiment.
Discord, aside from being closed sourced, requiring an account to access, and being problematic with it's policies, is terrible for support and future reference when questions are asked. It's not easily searchable nor will questions already having been answered show in any search engine results.
Support being locked behind these closed doors makes it extremely difficult to get answers or find solutions. It also defeats the purpose, in my mind, of open source software when features or services are locked behind other closed source, and data-mining, companies or services.
A public forum or the GitHub page are both easily searchable and publicly available, meaning anyone searching for answers or help can see them without needing an account. I would argue this would be extremely beneficial as far as support goes and would take a fairly large load off of the support requirements. Simply directing people there who may not know about the alternatives would hopefully generate more publicly available information.
This would also keep in line with your open source messaging that you built this whole product off of, which I know for me is extremely important and valuable.
I understand this project is still extremely new and in no way mean any disrespect or wish to sound ungrateful. This is an amazing piece of tech and I'm excited to see all the things that will be done with it as time goes on. These are simply my thoughts as someone who values the open source community greatly and would appreciate seeing more emphasis placed on the ability to utilize other open source products and services.
