CAD drawings and Mapped surveys

I saw an item on the VIew menu that inspired a few imaginations: Page Scale. But it is to change page size by a %. (not sure what the use case could be here).

I was actually thinking it was page units, The kind used in engineering plans, to draw layouts of maps. Usually the scale is 1 inch =10 feet to 1 inch =100 feet for maps, and goes up in increments of 10'. And there is an equivalent for architectural plans that works in fractions.

Just imagine the kinds of drawings we could do if we could draw in inches, feet, and meters.

Imagine the kinds of shapes we would need like lines, rays, infinity lines, arcs, circles, ellipses. elliptical arcs.

It might be tough to go 3D but there might be a possibility of going 3D as well with coordinates having a depth parameter.
