How to remove borders from shapes when combine two shapes together into one model?

How to remove borders from shapes when combine two shapes together into one model? For example, when combine two cube shapes into one model, there is visible border between shapes.
Also, how to draw invinsible holes in 2D model use dashed lines? Dashed lines must be drawn at right angles.Did't find easy way to do this.
