CodeQL analysis returns alert "Replacement of a substring with itself" for mask function

Hello,
Running CodeQL returned a medium security alert for this line in the mask function:
return str.replace(/\\/g, '\\');

It states:
This replaces '' with itself.
and indicates that this is a Common Weakness Enumeration: CWE-116.

Is this cause for concern? Do I need to do anything special if I'm using this library?
