I'd like silence in the bedroom!

Is it possible to stop VT from adjusting valves on certain Vtherms? I'd like to guarantee that there's no noise from the thermostats while we're asleep. (Otherwise the wife will kill me!). What I'd like to do is set the bedroom valves to 50% last thing at night and then turn control back over to VT when we get up.

The objective of VTherm is to regulate the temperature so that is setpoint is reached. What you ask is to do exactly the inverse. So, no it is not possible out of the box.

There is two think you can do:

1. stop the Vtherm at night, and control manually the TRV (or the valve if you can). Manually means via an automation if you want,
2. stop the self-regulation. This should limit the number of changes on the TRV. This is only possible via chaning the configuration so it is not so easy.

But ...

at home I have a PAC that make a bip each time a command is sent by VTherm. Thoses bips stops rapidly when the stabilisation is effective. Is that not the case ?

Thanks. I'll give #1 a go. Not sure what you mean about the settling down, last night I heard the living room trv adjusting several times, and at night I go into exp mode which shuts the trv valve, which will need to open in the morning when the heating comes on, which is the noise I want to prevent. I'll update when I have more experience (I only have 4 trvs at the moment, 12 more are on their way!)

I've been using Eve Thermo for a while, they are pretty loud. In the past few weeks I've switched a few of them to Sonoff TRVZB and found them to be surprisingly quiet. So maybe you'd additionally want to look into a different device in your bedroom?

I have the sonoffs, but i can hear them in the living room so we will definitely hear them in the silence of the bedroom. Plus one of them will be 50cm from my wife's head!

You could write a script that sets min and max valve opening percentage to the same value (e.g. 50%) at night. You would do this for the TRV itself, not for the climate device created by vtherm.

I'm afraid disabling the vtherm doesn't seem to stop it controlling the trv. The vtherm disappears from my dashboard, but at the scheduled time to go into comfort mode this morning, the trvs noisily activated. They did they same yesterday, but I thought maybe the trv was doing it's own thing outside of VT , so last night I set both of them to off, but they still activated this morning, so it must be VT doing it?

You need to enable both entities in the configuration of the TRV, it's in the section "Diagnostic". Then you will see them in "Configuration":

I don't think they are limits, just current valve position values. I think those are the values VT adjusts.

No. this is not possible. You have something else controlling your TRV (or Vtherm is not switched off).

It seems there are different ways of disabling. I couldn't see a disable/enable exposed by VT, so I disabled the VTherm device using spook.

It looks very different to if I disable the vtherm from the three dots menu, as i can still see it in my list of devices and it only shows as disabled when I click on it

It looks like that instead of using spook to disable a device i needed to use spook to "disable an integration", which at first I thought would disable VT altogether, but when you dig in, it actually "disables an integration configuration entry" which gives the same result as when I use the three dots menu.

@doubledrat I'm used to disable a Vtherm/ I have many tests Vtherm and I always enable and disable it. I can confirm that disabling a VTherm shut it down. I disable with the 2 dots menus.

I don't know spook so I cannot tell about it.
The best to see if it is disabled is to look in the log. VTherm is verbose so if it is disabled, that will be esay to see in the logs

Using spook from hacs to disable an integration on the bedroom vtherm did the trick. Thanks for the suggestions
