Boost mode

I sometimes have to heat up a room very fast.

Right now there are two options:
1)Set the temperature higher than actually desired and do not forget to undo this later
2)Set valve opening & closing manually, then it will be overwritten again relatively quickly.

Both solutions are suboptimal.

My suggestion would be a boost mode:
Until the desired temperature is reached, the valve is set to 100% and then continues to operate normally.

Useful extensions would be:
1)Support in versatile_thermostat_card as an (optional) button
2)Adjustable threshold value from which the boost mode is switched off before it is reached, e.g. 0.3 degrees as default

Hello, there is already a Boost preset. Does it not do the job ?

Hi,
The boost preset is just an fixed temperature. It has no difference to manual temperature setting.

My request is to reach an temperature as fast as possible in 'emergencies'

ok but how can VTherm heats more than your heater can does in boost mode ?

Sorry, I should describe my setup in more detail:

I have 6 Sonoff TRVZB & Z2M in a house with its own heating system that cannot yet be controlled with HA.
The 6 TRVZB are all configured individually, not centrally.

In principle, I want in rare cases exactly what VT does not do: 100% output of the heating until the desired temperature is reached.

I have written an initial automation for this:

In the first 2 tests, this worked perfectly.

As you can see, VT does not control the TRVZB but a virtual Varialbe which then controls the valves of the TRVZB via automation.
This works perfectly, but has various advantages and disadvantages, which are a different topic.
