Is it possible to change a VTherm from over_valve to over_climate?

Hi,

I'm in the process of switching from my old Z-Wave devices which are configured as over_valve to Sonoff TRVZB devices which should be configured as over_climate with direct valve control.

Is it possible to reconfigure my existing VTherms to use the TRVZB as over_climate underlying? It would be a lot easier for me to reuse the existing VTherms instead of creating new ones which would result in reconfiguring a lot in HA.

Hello, not it is not possible. You will have to recreate a new one. If you delete the first and create the next with the same name, the switch could be simple.

I hoped it could be possible, but then I have to go the hard way. It‘s the HA thing of using device ids instead of names that complicates things.

You should use entityId and not deviceId in all your automation. Yes this is a good practice.
