Is Junit 5 still supported and maintained?

What's the maintenance status of Junit 5? is it EOL?

Since the JUnit team is embracing Java 17 with the new major version update, the minimum supported Android API level takes a big jump and goes from 26 to 35. Ouch.

It also currently warns noisily when running the vintage tests #5030

If Junit 5 is EOL, then Android projects should probably just revert to Junit 4. Junit 5 doesn't run on Android 21-25 anyway.

Version 5.x is still supported (as indicated by our security policy). It will not see major new features but we will backport important big fixes.

Since it's specifically 5.14+, we are hitting mannodermaus/android-junit5#390, but hopefully they can fix it.
