Is it Possible to Receive on_reconcile Call by Controller if Resource Has Been Deleted.

I've experimented with controller example. It seems reconcile callback isn't called if resource is deleted, unlike resources watched by watcher. Am I right? Is there a way to get reconcile call on DELETED event?

So the problem here is that Controller's primary use case (over reflector) is for managing external resources (as in either in Kubernetes or in some 3rd party system), and DELETED events aren't reliable for that since you'll miss any deletes that happen while your controller isn't running.

Instead, you have two options:

1. For managing Kubernetes objects in the same namespace, use garbage collection. This allows Kubernetes to automatically delete the owned object when the owner is deleted, without needing any special logic in your controller.
2. If that's not enough, use finalizers (upstream docs). This tells Kubernetes to "pause" deletion until your controller has had time to process and acknowledge it.

Hello @nightkr thank you for your clarification.

I was also confused by the fact, that sample return reconcile failed: object not found if the object has been deleted. Is it intended? Should we filter such cases in error handling if we want to avoid error report spaming?

Yesn't; the problem is that it can either be perfectly normal or indicative of a deeper configuration issue. But on the balance it's probably worth downgrading and rewriting the error to be less alarming at this point.
