"Failed query, do you wish to retry?" when you click e.g recent changes before page has finished loading

Steps to reproduce:

1. Have bad internet. In my case it is a combination of iwlwifi regressions, a cellular internet connection (LTE, also means high-ish latency) and simply being in germany.
2. Log into the wiki.
3. Click on recent changes as fast as possible while the site is still loading.
4. You get an annoying wiki monkey popup of a failed query.

Expected behavior:

Interruptions or whatever this is are handled correctly and there is no error.
